# UniHive recommender — engine 3.0 (BGE-384), work in progress

Hybrid feed engine retrained for 384-d `BAAI/bge-small-en-v1.5` embeddings, no community features, 114 interest tags, dwell/action labels, built to plug into the `main` backend behind `PERSONALIZATION_ENGINE=hybrid`.

- `hybrid_engine/` — engine, `main_adapter.py` (Postgres only, no Redis), aliases, tag backfill, tests; `artifacts_v3/` holds the ONNX models and reports
- `main_patch/` — 4 patches for `main` (`git am`); `training_scripts/` — build/verify scripts
- `ENGINE_V3.md`, `COMPATIBILITY_REPORT.md/.pdf` — design and compatibility report
- **`ENGINE_V3_OPEN_ISSUES.md` — read first: what is verified and what still needs fixing**

Status: tests on a real PostgreSQL pass (327 / 325), but the production image, live LLM tagger and frontend are untested, and the model has not seen real UniHive traffic.
