# Telegram: your assistant in your messenger If you use Telegram, your assistant can join your chats there. AgentBridge connects to Telegram as a regular account, and you simply send it a private message — text or files — and the assistant replies in the same conversation, including the documents it produces. It is like having your AI colleague in your contact list, ready whenever you open the app. ## First connection The first time you connect, AgentBridge guides you through the process from the chat window. You type /telegram and follow the steps: the program asks for the verification code that Telegram sends you, and after that one-time login the assistant stays connected. If your account uses a two-step password, you provide it the same way, once. ## Who can talk to the assistant You decide who is allowed to write. AgentBridge keeps an allow-list: only the people you add can talk to the assistant, and everyone else is ignored. You can add or remove people at any time, using either their username or their numeric ID. ## Files in both directions Attachments work both ways. You can send the assistant a document and ask for work on it, and the assistant can send you the finished files right in the chat. The files it produces are also saved in an attachments folder next to the program, so you can find them later even outside Telegram. ## A note on messages Telegram chat is a text medium: you write, and the assistant replies in writing. For voice conversations, use the phone access described in its own guide. The next guide introduces the assistant's most independent side: the tasks it plans and carries out on its own.
