# CodexDashBoard Plan

## Product Shape

Build a smaller, steadier dashboard than the current Claude Code panel.

CodexDashBoard should answer four questions quickly:

- What is Codex doing right now?
- What did I work on recently?
- Which processes are alive or stale?
- Where are the relevant logs?

## v1 Scope

- Native GTK3 app.
- Sidebar navigation instead of many equal tabs.
- Read-only access to Codex SQLite databases.
- v0.2 ships Codex-first views only: Overview, Sessions, Processes, Logs.
- Unfinished Claude-specific views stay hidden or out of scope until they are complete.
- No WebKit embed.
- No Claude settings, Claude hooks, swarm views, brightness tools, or unrelated
  panels.
- Process kill actions only with confirmation.

## Stability Rules

- Data layer must work without GTK.
- Missing or locked Codex DBs must not crash the UI.
- Poll visible views only.
- Keep refreshes explicit and low-frequency.
- Log errors to `~/.cache/codex-dashboard.log`.
