The Corner Cafe trades from 9 Eskdail Court, Dalkeith, Midlothian. These website notices describe how we handle allergens, pricing, privacy, fulfilment, refunds, and (when enabled) online payments. They do not replace food-hygiene, employment, or trading-standards obligations, and are not legal advice.

Our kitchen handles the 14 major allergens recognised in the UK (including cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin and molluscs). Cross-contact may occur.

Please tell a member of staff about allergies or intolerances before you order. Written allergen information is available on request. Online ordering (when live) will ask you to confirm allergen notes before payment.

Prices on this menu are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where VAT applies to the item or service. If our VAT registration status or rates change, we will update displayed prices. Tips and discretionary service charges (if any) will be shown separately at checkout.

If you enquire or place an order, we may process your name, phone number and email to confirm the order, arrange pickup/delivery, send status updates, and respond to messages. We keep this information only as long as needed for the order and any legal record-keeping, then delete or anonymise it.

We do not sell your details. Payment providers (when used) process payment data under their own notices. To access, correct or delete your data, email pd3rvr@icloud.com. You may also complain to the ICO if you believe your data rights have been breached.

Pickup: collect in café at 9 Eskdail Court during opening hours (Mon–Sun 9:00–17:00).

Delivery: not available from this website yet. Delivery is planned via Just Eat (“coming soon”). Platform terms will apply for those orders.

Cut-off (draft for online ordering): last online order for same-day pickup 30 minutes before close (16:30). Breakfast items may stop earlier when sold out or after the breakfast service window (currently until 11:30). We may refuse or retime orders when the kitchen is at capacity.

Bank transfer / pay-by-bank (when offered): each order will show a unique payment reference. Please pay the exact amount with that reference. Orders stay awaiting payment until funds clear. If you pay the wrong amount or omit the reference, email us with proof of payment so we can match it—this can delay preparation.

Failed or duplicate transfers: contact us promptly. Confirmed duplicates or clear failures will be refunded to the originating account once verified (timing depends on your bank). Perishable food already prepared to your instruction after payment confirmation is generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we cancel.

Card or open-banking checkout is not live on this site yet. When we enable a regulated payment provider, that provider will handle Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and PSD2 obligations (for example bank login, one-time passcode, or app approval).

We will not store full card numbers on café systems. Chargebacks, authentication failures and settlement follow the provider’s terms, which we will link here before go-live.
