# AmendEU

**Every committee amendment tabled in the European Parliament since 2008, by every MEP, in one place.**

[amendeu.com](https://amendeu.com) makes the Parliament's own public record readable: pick a Member, see every amendment they signed, read the text, click through to the official document. 1.36 million amendments, 2,500 MEPs, 5,250 legislative procedures, five parliamentary terms.

- **[european-parliament-amendments](https://huggingface.co/datasets/amendeu/european-parliament-amendments)**: the full dataset behind the site, as four Parquet tables (signatures, amendments with text, MEPs, dossiers). Query it in the browser, or load it in Python, R or DuckDB in one line.

## How the data is made

Everything resolves to an official European Parliament document. Amendment documents are discovered through the [EP Open Data API](https://data.europarl.europa.eu), downloaded as the Parliament's official DOCX/PDF, and parsed deterministically from the Parliament's own markup (amendment number, authors, article, old and new text). No language model is involved in extraction or counting. The historical base (2008 to January 2026) comes from the [Parltrack](https://parltrack.org) dumps, which applied the same method to the same documents.

Licence: ODbL 1.0 (derived from Parltrack), with attribution to Parltrack and the European Parliament.
