# WorkflowIR 1

WorkflowIR is the deterministic compilation result. It contains typed inputs, nodes,
references, explicit ordering constraints, safety classification, deduplication records,
schemas, provenance, inference evidence, and a content hash.

Node arguments can reference `inputs.<path>` or `nodes.<id>.result.<path>`. References
are inferred only from exact, unambiguous observations. Explicit dependencies from the
source trace are preserved even when there is no data reference.

The `workflow_hash` is SHA-256 over canonical JSON with self-hash fields excluded. Use
`trace2mcp verify WORKFLOW` after moving or reviewing an artifact. A matching hash proves
content identity, not semantic correctness or source authenticity.
