+ # Gargantua Code Gen 2
12
+
13
+ Qwen2.5-Coder 7B Instruct fine-tuned (LoRA) for the openTARS app: it writes, reads, fixes and explains code using the app's prompt and its 19 tools. Quantized to Q4_K_M (4.7 GB). Text only, no vision.

15
+ Ollama: `ollama run ProjectOpenTARS/Gargantua-Code-Gen2:code`

+ ## Measured (04/11/2026, openTARS 5.2, 60 code tasks, one run)

19
+ | Category | Score |
20
+ |---|---|
21
+ | fix code | 10/10 |
22
+ | explain code | 10/10 |
23
+ | write a function | 10/10 |
24

25

26
+ | read a script and say what it prints | 1/10 |
27

28

29
+ No dangerous actions. Average 7.7 s per task on an RTX 3050.

31
+ ## Limits
32
+
33
+ - **Reading code is weak (1/10):** in 6 of the 9 misses the model returned nothing. We do not know the cause yet.
34
+ - The tasks are simple (create a file, fix a short script). This is not a general programming benchmark.
35
+ - The untrained base (`qwen2.5-coder:7b`) scores 0/60 on the same test, because it does not know the openTARS prompt and tools. That shows what the training teaches, not that the base is bad at code.
36
+ - The Q4_K_M export has not been compared against the 16-bit model.
