# Deployment Verification — WebLLM CDN Fix

## Issue Summary

**Problem:** GitHub Pages showed "OFFLINE" status, WebLLM not loading
**Root Cause:** Commits were made locally but NOT pushed to GitHub
**Fix Applied:** Pushed commits to origin/master
**Result:** CDN fixes now live on GitHub Pages

### Files Updated

1. **index-app.html**
   - Added dual CDN configuration (jsDelivr + unpkg fallback)
   - Added status tracking: window.webllmReady, window.webllmError, window.webllmCDNLoading
   - Auto-fallback logic when primary CDN fails

2. **js/ahmad-jit-ui.js**
   - Added WebLLM availability check in loadModel()
   - User messages if CDN still loading or failed
   - Graceful error handling

3. **js/ahmad-jit-engine.js**
   - Enhanced error messages with CDN status
   - Better console logging

## Verification Steps (Do This Now)

### Step 1: Hard Refresh GitHub Pages

1. Open: https://snapkittywest.github.io/rowm-polymorphic-notebook/index-app.html
2. Hard refresh: **Ctrl+Shift+R** (Windows) or **Cmd+Shift+R** (Mac)
3. Wait for page to fully load (2-3 seconds)

### Step 2: Check Console (F12)

Open browser console (F12) and look for:

WebLLM loaded from jsDelivr

// OR if fallback needed:

WebLLM loaded from unpkg

```

### Step 3: Verify Global Variables

Paste these in console:

console.log('window.webllmReady:', window.webllmReady);      // Should be: true

console.log('window.webllmError:', window.webllmError);      // Should be: null

**Expected Output:**

### Step 4: Check Network (DevTools Network Tab)

1. Open DevTools > Network tab
2. Reload page
3. Look for these requests:

cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mlc-ai/web-llm@0.2.32/dist/web-llm.js

Status: 200 (success) or 304 (cached from browser)

```

If jsDelivr fails (404, timeout), you should also see:

unpkg.com/@mlc-ai/web-llm@0.2.32/dist/web-llm.js

Status: 200 (fallback success)

```

### Step 5: Test Model Loading

1. Look at Ahmad Bot box (centered on page)
2. Status should show: **OFFLINE** (in red)
3. Button should say: **LOAD LOCAL MODEL**
4. Click the button
5. System messages appear:
   - "Initializing WebLLM engine and downloading model (500MB+)..."
   - "This may take 1-5 minutes on first load..."
6. Wait 1-5 minutes for model download
7. Status should change to: **READY** (in green)
8. Try sending a message - response should stream

## Troubleshooting

### Issue: Still Shows OFFLINE

**Check 1: GitHub Pages Deployed?**

# In terminal:

cd rowm-polymorphic-notebook

git log --oneline -1 origin/master

# Should show: 213d21a fix: Add WebLLM CDN fallback...

```

**Check 2: Page Cache**
- Hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) / Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
- Clear browser cache: DevTools > Settings > Network > Disable cache

**Check 3: CDN Loading**
- Console should show: "WebLLM loaded from jsDelivr" or "WebLLM loaded from unpkg"
- If not, check Network tab for CDN requests

### Issue: Network Error Loading CDN

**Option 1: Check Internet**
- Open any website to verify connection works
- Try different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

**Option 2: Check Corporate Network**
- Some networks block CDNs
- Try on phone hotspot or personal WiFi

**Option 3: CDN Down**
- Both jsDelivr and unpkg down simultaneously (extremely rare)
- Wait a few minutes and try again

### Issue: Model Download Very Slow

**This is Normal:**
- First download is 500MB (takes 1-5 minutes)
- After first load, model is cached
- Subsequent visits are instant

7. User clicks button

8. Model downloads (1-5 minutes)

9. Console: "Model loaded: Qwen2-0.5B-Instruct-q4f32_1-MLC"

10. Ahmad Bot status: LOADING → READY

11. Chat enabled, can send messages

### Scenario: jsDelivr Fails (Fallback Case)

1-4. Same as above but jsDelivr fails

5. onerror fires, loadWebLLMFallback() called

6. unpkg CDN loads WebLLM

7. Console: "WebLLM loaded from unpkg"

8-11. Same as normal case

### Scenario: User Clicks Before CDN Loads

1. User opens page

2. Clicks "LOAD LOCAL MODEL" before CDN loads (2-3 sec)

3. Chat shows: "WebLLM library is still loading from CDN. Please wait a moment and try again."

4. Button re-enabled

5. User waits 3-5 seconds

6. Clicks again

7. This time CDN is ready, model loads successfully

## Sign-Off

**Deployment Status:** ✅ COMPLETE

**Issue:** OFFLINE status due to unpushed commits  
**Root Cause:** Local-only commits not synchronized to GitHub  
**Fix:** Pushed 2 commits to origin/master (213d21a, ebf2743)  
**Verification:** Visit live site and hard refresh, should show READY status after model load
