Batch 4: 30 more entries (IDs 411–458)

Public bucket: https://huggingface.co/buckets/smodusermc/offline-games

Batch: batch-aef92b4ce8. Evidence is under _verification/batches/batch-aef92b4ce8/.

Scope decisions

  • Skipped 418 Prodigy: the local page is only a version selector; every version loads its game code and assets from cdn.prodigygame.com, code.prodigygame.com and web.archive.org (payload hosted off-site).
  • Added 458 Sanic Ball, Webport in place of Old Prodigy, keeping the batch at 30.
  • 429 Ragdoll Hit is kept: its Unity files are hosted by the site, but its launcher script is loaded from Poki's CDN (game-cdn.poki.com). With outside network blocked the page stays blank; with only Poki's loader hosts allowed, the archived copy reaches its 1 PLAYER / 2 PLAYERS menu.
  • 422 Quake III as linked by the catalog opens a page that asks for the player's own .pk3 files. The page's built-in demo (DEMO.pk3, 39.9 MB) is archived and loads with Quake3.htm?demo plus its demo button; the bucket copy reached the full Quake III Arena main menu offline. Quake3Game.pk3, used only by the engine's optional download path, returns 404 at the source.
  • Flash entries (Rabbids, Riddle School series) use the Ruffle player from unpkg.com, a public library rather than game data; the browser check allowed only that library.

How this batch was checked

  1. Static capture of each entry page and everything it references, including runtime-built names, numbered split files, part manifests, Unity/Emscripten/.NET/Cocos/GameMaker loaders and EmulatorJS core tables.
  2. Loader-declared payloads that only load later in play were read from the games' own code: Portal's mapsOrdered list (16 maps; background1 in two parts) and Portal 2's chunks/manifest.json (13 chunks with byte sizes and SHA-256, plus their OPFS index files).
  3. Live-site request traces for all 30 entries: the real page was opened in headless Chromium and taken through generic launch steps (Play/Start/Launch buttons, canvas click, Enter/Space). Every same-origin response was compared with the archive. 3 traces hit the memory guard; their requests up to that point were still compared.
  4. Trace-driven repair: 199 files that the live site loaded but the static capture had missed were stored (0.62 GB) and 0 already-stored shared files were linked.
  5. Read-back: every stored file was downloaded back from the bucket and compared by SHA-256 and size; loose images and audio were decoded.
  6. Browser run of the bucket copy with all outside network blocked (only well-known public libraries such as Ruffle and jQuery allowed), with screenshots.

Findings in this batch

  • Portal 2 manifest mismatch (source side). 11 of the 13 chunk files match the byte sizes and SHA-256 in the game's own chunks/manifest.json. chp1.data and chp2.data do not: the site re-packed them on 22 Sep 2026 (402,401,857 and 148,989,800 bytes) but left the manifest and the .index.json files describing the older packs (486,250,984 and 163,133,063 bytes). The archived files are byte-identical to a fresh download from the site, and both packs parse cleanly end to end (517 and 136 entries). The loader re-fetches and unpacks a chunk directly when its size differs from the manifest, so the site and the archive behave the same way here.
  • Potion Craft split data. The live trace was stopped by the memory guard after the loader had only HEAD-probed the last three of 31 data parts, so the first repair pass missed parts 028–030. The repair tool now also stores files confirmed by HEAD responses, and the three parts were added.
  • New rule: Unity Addressables catalogs. Some Unity ports load StreamingAssets/aa/settings.json, then a catalog, then asset bundles, all from game code that neither page scanning nor a short trace sees. Every Unity entry in the archive was probed for these files and every stored catalog was parsed:
    • 416 Potion Craft Alchemy Simulator, Webport: 60 files added this round (874.2 MB); 60 Addressables files recorded in total. Includes 56 split parts of two bundles.
    • 361 Needy Streamer Overload, Webport: 919 files added this round (533.9 MB); 919 Addressables files recorded in total. Batch 3 had stored none of these bundles.
    • 237 Gamble With Your Friends, Webport: 25 files added this round (0.3 MB); 25 Addressables files recorded in total.
    • 417 Pretend its not there, Webport: 12 files added this round (0.1 MB); 12 Addressables files recorded in total.
    • 22 Among us: 1 file added this round (0.1 MB); 37 Addressables files recorded in total. Its main bundle was already archived as 34 split parts from an earlier batch; the built-in shaders bundle was the missing piece.
    • Potion Craft serves two of its bundles only as numbered split parts (47 and 9 parts), which its page loader joins; all parts are archived.
    • Every added file was read back from the bucket and SHA-256 checked; all bundles carry a valid UnityFS header.
  • The file-type list now includes .pk3, .vpk, .bsp and .so (Quake III packs, Source-engine libraries).

Browser results (bucket copy, outside network blocked)

With outside network blocked, 28 of 30 reached the game's own first screen, title or menu; 1 needs an outside launcher script (429, which reaches its menu when only Poki's hosts are allowed); 1 could not finish loading on the test host (416). These are start-up checks, not playthroughs.

How to read the browser results

  • The test host has 2 GB of RAM and software-only WebGL. A 4 GB swap file was added this round, so memory-heavy builds could run instead of being cut off by the memory guard. The page waits were also lengthened, up to 5 minutes for Portal 2.
  • When the archive copy did not reach a menu, the live site was opened in the same headless browser for comparison:
    • Portal: the result depends on the window shape. At 1024×720, the live site and the archive both stop with the engine's own "Can't find background image" message box. At 1280×720, both reach the main menu.
    • Riddle Transfer: both reach the preloader's MAIN MENU button after about 2 minutes.
  • Earlier entries re-checked after the Unity Addressables repair (outside network blocked):
    • 361 Needy Streamer Overload: requested 23 of the newly stored bundles during start-up and reached its opening "Windose 20 Setup" caution dialog. In batch 3 it had been stopped by the memory guard.
    • 237 Gamble With Your Friends: reached its main menu (Play Solo, Settings, Credits, Quit).
    • 22 Among Us: reached its privacy and terms dialog.

Known gaps and limits

  • Same-origin requests that fail on the live site as well: 428 /vs/gameloader-helper.js; 439/449 /js/main.js and 440–445 /js/all.min.js (site-wide scripts, not game files); 450 fonts/torus-bold-webfont.woff/.woff2 and prebid4.12.0.js; 429/450 Poki template screenshots. Retro Bowl optiondata.dat / rb_save_-1.json 404s are save-file probes and are normal.
  • Online-only features are not archived: Sanic Ball online races, Raldi's Crack House Game Jolt API calls, Unity analytics endpoints and ad scripts.
  • Browser checks confirm start-up only; none of these runs is a playthrough. Potion Craft needs more memory than the 2 GB test host has, even with 4 GB of swap. Portal needs a widescreen window on the live site and in the archive alike.

Bucket size at report time: 66,149,351,200 bytes (66.15 GB).

Original files and folder layout are kept. These are HTTP-served web builds, not file:// or single-file HTML releases. Game payloads and caches were deleted from the workspace; scripts, inventories, reports and screenshots are kept under the 128 MB limit.
