Automating Customer Service using LangChain: Building custom open-source GPT Chatbot for organizations

In the digital age, the dynamics of customer service are evolving, driven by technological advancements and the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs). This research paper introduces a groundbreaking approach to automating customer service using LangChain, a custom LLM tailored for organizations. The paper explores the obsolescence of traditional customer support techniques, particularly Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and proposes a paradigm shift towards responsive, context-aware, and personalized customer interactions. The heart of this innovation lies in the fusion of open-source methodologies, web scraping, fine-tuning, and the seamless integration of LangChain into customer service platforms. FAMA: Failure-Aware Meta-Agentic Framework for Open-Source LLMs in Interactive Tool Use Environments

Large Language Models are being increasingly deployed as the decision-making core of autonomous agents capable of effecting change in external environments. Yet, in conversational benchmarks, which simulate real-world customer-centric issue resolution scenarios, these agents frequently fail due to the cascading effects of incorrect decision-making. These challenges are particularly pronounced for open-source LLMs with smaller parameter sizes, limited context windows, and constrained inference budgets, which contribute to increased error accumulation in agentic settings. To tackle these challenges, we present the Failure-Aware Meta-Agentic (FAMA) framework. FAMA operates in two stages: first, it analyzes failure trajectories from baseline agents to identify the most prevalent errors; second, it employs an orchestration mechanism that activates a minimal subset of specialized agents tailored to address these failures by injecting a targeted context for the tool-use agent before the decision-making step. Experiments across open-source LLMs demonstrate performance gains up to 27% across evaluation modes over standard baselines. These results highlight that targeted curation of context through specialized agents to address common failures is a valuable design principle for building reliable, multi-turn tool-use LLM agents that simulate real-world conversational scenarios.

HumanLLM: Towards Personalized Understanding and Simulation of Human Nature

Motivated by the remarkable progress of large language models (LLMs) in objective tasks like mathematics and coding, there is growing interest in their potential to simulate human behavior--a capability with profound implications for transforming social science research and customer-centric business insights. However, LLMs often lack a nuanced understanding of human cognition and behavior, limiting their effectiveness in social simulation and personalized applications. We posit that this limitation stems from a fundamental misalignment: standard LLM pretraining on vast, uncontextualized web data does not capture the continuous, situated context of an individual's decisions, thoughts, and behaviors over time. To bridge this gap, we introduce HumanLLM, a foundation model designed for personalized understanding and simulation of individuals. We first construct the Cognitive Genome Dataset, a large-scale corpus curated from real-world user data on platforms like Reddit, Twitter, Blogger, and Amazon. Through a rigorous, multi-stage pipeline involving data filtering, synthesis, and quality control, we automatically extract over 5.5 million user logs to distill rich profiles, behaviors, and thinking patterns. We then formulate diverse learning tasks and perform supervised fine-tuning to empower the model to predict a wide range of individualized human behaviors, thoughts, and experiences. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that HumanLLM achieves superior performance in predicting user actions and inner thoughts, more accurately mimics user writing styles and preferences, and generates more authentic user profiles compared to base models. Furthermore, HumanLLM shows significant gains on out-of-domain social intelligence benchmarks, indicating enhanced generalization.

RetailSMV: Exocentric vs. Egocentric Adaptation of Foundation Video World Models in Retail

Foundation video diffusion models are increasingly viewed as world simulators for embodied agents, yet their pretraining on internet-scale generic video leaves them poorly aligned with real-world deployment domains. We study parameter-efficient adaptation of a pretrained foundation video world model to retail scenes: when synchronized egocentric and exocentric video of the same activity are available, which viewpoint of training data produces the strongest adapted model? We introduce RetailSMV (Retail Synchronized Multi-View), a corpus of 32,105 captioned retail clips from five supermarkets with synchronized ego/exo capture from the store-staff perspective (stocking, arranging, weighing, managing supply carts, scanning at checkout), rather than the customer-centric framing of prior retail video corpora, and train three matched Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) configurations of Cosmos3-Nano (egocentric-only, exocentric-only, combined) under identical hyperparameters. On a 200-clip held-out test set evaluated with seven complementary metrics under a strict paired statistical protocol, exocentric-only adaptation matches or exceeds combined adaptation on six of seven point estimates and is significantly better on LPIPS, PSNR, and DreamSim, despite training on only 15,985 exocentric clips (versus 32,105 for combined). A symmetric paired comparison further shows that adding exocentric data to egocentric-only training helps while adding egocentric data to exocentric-only training hurts. The absolute adaptation gap is largest at the shortest rollout time, identifying the near-horizon prediction window as the regime in which adaptation is most beneficial.
