The free software grant covers qualifying noncommercial personal, educational, nonprofit research and public-benefit use. Enterprise use, including internal evaluation, and other commercial use require a separate written agreement. Paid consulting, client work, SaaS/API hosting and embedding in a commercial product fall in that category. This is source-available software, not OSI-approved open source. The article license is deliberately separate: CC BY 4.0 permits commercial article reuse with its attribution conditions, without granting commercial software rights. Affiliation is attribution and does not establish institutional endorsement.
Transition and distribution
Earlier local Python metadata declared Apache-2.0. This source release
uses LicenseRef-Vons-Community-Commercial-1.0 and includes its exact text.
Frozen research snapshots retain their historical metadata and measurements.
This change makes no claim that rights previously granted under Apache-2.0 can
be withdrawn. Existing third-party licenses and notices remain effective.
The root license contains the custom terms for this source distribution. A separate written agreement is required for enterprise or commercial software use; publishing the source does not execute a customer contract. The source list and hashes identify the reviewed files, and do not establish rights over an unreviewed third-party asset. No manuscript or model weights accompany this source release.
Commercial contracts, pricing, support and optional conformance services are separate from this free community grant. No certification claim is made.
