S1-GRT-RNN (MatterWaveAI/s1-grt-rnn)

S1-GRT-RNN is a Stateful O(1) Constant-Memory Unitary Gated Rotational RNN World-Model Judge, Model-Predictive Control (MPC) Action Router & Long-Horizon Automaton Guardrail (0 dense linear matrices, 0 1D/2D convolutional layers) built on GRT-RNN.

Complex multi-step agent protocols and stateful execution guardrails over long horizons (T = 8,192+) require nonlinear hidden-state-dependent transition gating—where the recurrent state transition itself depends on what mode or automaton state the agent is currently in—without the quadratic memory growth of attention KV caches.

S1-GRT-RNN unites unitary gated rotational RNN recurrence (Rotational-minGRU & Unitary-GRU) with multi-step latent trajectory lookahead:

  • Dual O(1) Recurrent Modes (0 Bytes KV Cache at T = 128 -> 8,192+): Supports both parallelizable Rotational-minGRU scan mode (< 3.82e-6 numerical parity between parallel prefix scan and O(1) step recurrence) and nonlinear state-coupled Unitary-GRU mode, updating a compact 3.0 KB recurrent state in O(1) compute and O(1) memory per event.
  • Unitary Long-Horizon Stability (det = +1.000000): Because every gated state rotation is strictly orthogonal, homogeneous state magnitude drifts by < 5.0e-7 over 1,000+ steps (9.55e-15 at T = 8,192 in float64)—preventing both vanishing memory of early safety constraints and exploding recurrent activations.
  • Single-Pass Latent MPC Lookahead (100% Option-Order Invariant): Branches the live recurrent RNN state across candidate agent actions in parallel before emitting an APPROVE / REJECT / ESCALATE verdict.

Release Note (Initial Preview Card): This card reports held-out XL-smol S1-GRT-RNN stateful verification, parallel-scan parity, nonlinear Unitary-GRU stability, O(1) memory scaling, and latent MPC routing benchmarks (12,003 held-out XL-smol records / 29,609 questions and 17,130 12-domain XL-smol test records / 44,287 questions). Model weights, architectural implementation details, and source code are withheld during the staged world-model release cycle to prevent white-box guardrail evasion.

Core Capabilities (S1-GRT-RNN)

  1. Stateful O(1) Agent & Protocol Monitoring (0 KV Cache):
    • Tracks long-horizon agent execution states, tool-call protocols, and build logs in O(1) memory per step while supporting both parallel minGRU scan training (< 3.82e-6 step parity) and nonlinear state-coupled Unitary-GRU recurrence.
  2. Latent Trajectory Lookahead & Prompt-Injection Defense:
    • Branches the live recurrent hidden state across candidate actions in parallel to simulate multi-step causal consequences in latent space, detecting adversarial prompt-injection hijacks embedded inside untrusted tool observations (77.17% top-1 / 86.60% pass@2 routing accuracy across 803 held-out trajectories / 2,409 test questions).
  3. 100% Option-Order Invariance (Permutation Consistency = 1.000):
    • Evaluates each candidate transition independently from the recurrent state, guaranteeing exact mathematical invariance (100.0% consistency) regardless of how candidate actions or multiple-choice options are ordered.
  4. Hybrid RNN + Rotational Attention Mode:
    • Supports both Pure Rotational RNN (0% KV cache, 98.6% continuous cyclic & stateful automaton tracking) and Hybrid Mode (66.7% KV-cache reduction, 99.2% associative needle-in-haystack recall + 99.2% state tracking).
