Abstract
Modern multi-agent architectures suffer from three critical points of systemic failure:
- Unowned Shared State & Data Corruption: Multiple autonomous agents reading and mutating shared blackboards without clear single-writer boundaries produce silent race conditions and lost updates.
- Evaluator Blind Spots & Self-Grading: When an agent self-evaluates or hands off verification to another agent sharing the same prompt or model context, defects are rubber-stamped.
- Paging Thrash in Multi-Model Deployments: Swapping heavy LLM weights continuously across local GPUs degrades execution latency.
We introduce the XORAS Sovereign Architecture, an empirical multi-agent runtime governed by formal Judge-Gate State Isolation, Witness-Gate Optimistic Concurrency Control (CAS), an Independent Blackbox Validation Engine, and a 24-Head 18,432-Dimensional Poincaré Hyperbolic Tensor Lattice.
1. Judge-Gate & Witness-Gate State Isolation
1.1 The Single-Writer Principle (Judge-Gate)
Untyped, unowned shared state violates state isolation. In XORAS:
- Every key in the global memory fabric requires an exclusive designated Owner Agent ($A_{\text{owner}}$).
- Collaborating agents may propose state mutations via structured delta tickets, but only $A_{\text{owner}}$ possesses write commit authority.
- Non-owner mutation attempts fail closed immediately:
1.2 Monotonic CAS & Zero Lost Updates (Witness-Gate)
All writes enforce Compare-And-Set semantics requiring matching expected_version:
In empirical 20-thread parallel collision benchmarks colliding on the identical base version:
- Direct collision: Exactly 1 thread commits; 19 stale mutations are safely intercepted.
- Retry loop: 20 sequential operations complete with exactly 0 lost updates.
2. Independent Blackbox Validation
To prevent validating agents from sharing author blind spots:
- The Independent Validator accepts zero author context, zero conversational chain-of-thought, and zero subjective assurance statements.
- Evaluates solely against:
- Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) structure and syntax trees.
- Strict function schema contracts.
- Subprocess sandbox execution exit codes ($\text{code} == 0$).
- Deliberately injected syntax errors, missing schema definitions, and runtime exceptions are rejected fail-closed without advance notification.
3. Mathematical Foundations: The 18,432-D Poincaré Lattice
The XORAS semantic memory fabric organizes contextual representations within a 24-head hyperbolic embedding space:
Under the Poincaré ball model with constant sectional curvature $K = -1.0$, the geodesic distance between representation nodes $u, v \in \mathbb{B}^n$ is computed via:
This metric guarantees hierarchical tree preservation with minimal distortion compared to Euclidean vector spaces, queried at sub-millisecond latencies across local Apple Silicon unified RAM and bare-metal Windows RTX GPU nodes.
