EditTextInImage

Official website: Edit text in an image with EditTextInImage

EditTextInImage is an online AI tool for changing words inside finished images. Use it to correct a label, refresh a poster, or localize a screenshot when the text is already part of the image.

The editor aims to preserve the original font appearance, color, size, perspective, background, and overall layout. Results depend on the image and the requested change: preservation is a goal, rather than a guarantee of identical pixels or typography.

Product description

The workflow starts with an existing image and two pieces of text: the wording currently visible and the wording you want in its place. The service looks for matching locations automatically. When the same wording appears several times, review the highlighted matches and choose the intended location. An optional area selection helps target a word or line when automatic matching cannot reliably locate it.

Editing takes place in the browser-based product on EditTextInImage. This Hub card is a product reference; it does not run the editor or distribute an inference model.

Key capabilities

  • Text replacement: provide the exact original and replacement wording for a targeted edit.
  • Automatic matching: identify candidate locations instead of starting with a manual selection.
  • Optional area selection: draw a target box when a reliable automatic match is unavailable.
  • Appearance preservation: aim to retain typography and surrounding visual context while changing the text.
  • Comparison and download: review the generated result against the original before downloading.
  • Translation workflow: the website also offers image translation. For specific approved wording, use exact text replacement and inspect the result.

The website currently accepts PNG, JPEG, and WebP images up to 10 MB. Check the live editor for current input requirements and available editing settings.

Intended use

EditTextInImage is useful for designers, marketers, product teams, and creators making focused changes to images they own or have permission to edit.

Scenario Example edit
Posters and event flyers Change a date, venue, or speaker name.
Exported slides and handouts Correct a heading or label without recreating the slide.
App screenshots Replace a short interface message for a localization preview.
Product graphics Update approved wording on a label or promotional image.
Social and advertising creative Try a different headline or call to action.

These are workflow examples, not measured performance results. Check the final wording and visual quality in each case.

How to use

  1. Open the website and upload or paste your image. Start with a readable source image and keep a copy of the original.
  2. Enter the original wording exactly. Include its punctuation and line breaks so the intended text is easier to identify.
  3. Enter the replacement wording. Check spelling, names, dates, and numbers before generating.
  4. Review the target location. Confirm the highlighted match; choose the correct location if several matches appear. Use the optional selection when no reliable match is found.
  5. Generate the edit. Follow the editor's current sign-in and credit requirements.
  6. Compare and download. Inspect the changed text and the surrounding image. If another region needs editing, review this result first and work through one region at a time.

Example: update a poster heading

Suppose your own event poster says Autumn Workshop, and the approved new heading is Autumn Design Workshop. Upload the poster, enter those two strings, and check that the selected match is the heading. After generation, inspect the longer wording for fit, spacing, readability, and any changes around the heading before using the result.

Tips for more reliable edits

  • Keep a manual selection close to the complete word or line, including its outline or shadow, without covering unrelated artwork.
  • Edit one text area at a time so each change can be checked independently.
  • Consider whether a longer replacement can fit the available space. Shorter wording may be easier to accommodate in a compact label.
  • Use comparison to inspect the whole image, including nearby graphics, rather than checking only that the new words are present.

Limitations and responsible use

AI edits can change more than intended. Font matching, exact character shapes, spacing, and preservation of unselected areas are not guaranteed. Complex backgrounds, decorative lettering, and substantially different text lengths may need additional review or a different editing approach.

Treat the result as a new image that needs inspection. For text that must be exact, verify every character and number before sharing or publishing.

Use images you own or are licensed to edit. The product does not support deceptive edits to identity documents, official seals, bank statements, or transaction records. Its current acceptable-use rules and terms apply to work performed on the website.

Frequently asked questions

Do I always need to draw a selection?
No. Start with the original and replacement wording. Use the optional area selection when automatic matching cannot find a reliable target.

Can I edit several text regions?
Work on one region at a time and check the result before moving to another.

Will the font and background stay exactly the same?
The editor aims to preserve their appearance, but AI output can vary. Always compare the result with the original.
