Issue with Licensing
Hello Siyuan Yan,
Hope you're doing well! along with the team that made DermLip.
I'm currently evaluating DermLIP for possible use in a low cost, hand-held raspberry-based machine to detect skin lesions and theoretically to support low-income remote communities to be presented at an undergraduate research conference.
I wanted to check in on an inconsistency with the licensing on this and another project. On both
https://huggingface.co/redlessone/DermLIP_ViT-B-16
https://huggingface.co/redlessone/DermLIP_PanDerm-base-w-PubMed-256
the README YAML front matter sets license: cc-by-4.0, while the "Model Details" section of the same card body lists license: cc-by-nc-nd-4.0.
Given that Derm1M is released under CC BY-NC 4.0 and the PanDerm repository states CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0, I assume the NC-ND terms are the intended ones and the YAML tag is a leftover, but i wanted to check just to make sure
Could you confirm which license governs the released weights? If it is CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, correcting the YAML license: field on both repos would make that unambiguous for anyone pulling the checkpoints.
Thanks for building DermLip! I've also contacted you on linkedin in case you don't see this message.

Hi Maxwell,
Thanks for flagging this. We’ve updated both DermLIP checkpoints to CC BY-NC 4.0, which is the intended license.
Your described non-commercial research use is fine, including adaptation and fine-tuning for research.
Thanks again, and good luck with the project!
Warm regards,
Siyuan
