short_description: Sandbox image for Pi Web on Hugging Face Sandboxes
Pi Web runtime image
The image every workspace machine of Pi Web on HF Sandboxes runs. A machine is an HF Sandbox, an
HF Job started in the signed-in user's own account from
hf.co/spaces/Mike0021/pi-web-runtime. That is why this Space is public: Jobs in any namespace must be able to pull
it. It contains no secret.
What is inside:
- Pi Web 0.12.1 and the pi coding agent, built from the release tag with
piweb/hf-design.patch: the "Pi Web on Hugging Face" design (Geist and Geist Mono, the pi mark, IBM Carbon icons, Claude Desktop's button sizes and small radii, a conversation laid out as Claude Desktop's: the session's title on top, the agent's steps folded into one line, the composer's toolbar inside it; borderless components, quieter session rows) and a slot in the sidebar footer for the gateway's workspace menu - Node 22, Python 3, uv, git, git-lfs, build tools, ripgrep, fd, jq, zstd
- the
hfCLI (huggingface_hub2.1.1) and the Hugging Face agent skills in~/.agents/skills sandbox/hfpi.mjs: the supervisor that restores the user's projects and sessions from their bucket, runs Pi Web, saves state while it changes (with a session index the Space's launcher reads), and stops the machine when idlesandbox/git-credential-huggingface: git authenticates to huggingface.co with the token the user lent at sign-insandbox/AGENTS.md: what the agent is told about this environment
The Space app itself only serves a short page; the gateway lives in a separate Space.
