# Elevator Uptime
A free public record of elevator and escalator outages. Riders report broken elevators in about 15 seconds, and live transit feeds plus city and state inspection records fill in the rest. No ads, and no account needed.

## Dataset
[elevatoruptime/elevator-outages](https://huggingface.co/datasets/elevatoruptime/elevator-outages) holds every rider report, plus the transit-agency and regulator records whose terms allow redistribution, one file per source. It's rebuilt daily from the same export as [elevatoruptime.com/data](https://www.elevatoruptime.com/data).
Load it with the datasets library, for example load_dataset("elevatoruptime/elevator-outages", "rider-reports"). Each source is its own config, such as "transit-tfl" or "inspections-nyc-dob".
Read the record type before you count outages. Inspection and expired-certificate rows are regulator records, not confirmed outages. The [dataset card](https://huggingface.co/datasets/elevatoruptime/elevator-outages) explains each source.
## Licence
The dataset files are [CC BY-NC 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/): free to share and adapt for non-commercial use, with attribution to "Elevator Uptime (elevatoruptime.com)". Commercial use needs a licence. Write to info@elevatoruptime.com.
## Who runs it
Elevator Uptime is built and run by [FIELDBOSS](https://www.fieldboss.com/industries/elevator/). To correct a record, email info@elevatoruptime.com with supporting evidence.
