| ## 1. Acceptance of Terms | |
| By accessing or using the DocuMint AI service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. | |
| ## 2. Description of Service | |
| DocuMint AI provides AI-powered document data extraction via a web interface and REST API. The Service extracts structured data (fields, line items, amounts) from uploaded document images and PDFs using vision-language models and OCR. | |
| ## 3. Acceptable Use | |
| You agree to: | |
| - Use the Service only for lawful purposes | |
| - Upload only documents you are authorized to process | |
| - Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or security measures | |
| - Not use the Service to process documents containing illegal content | |
| - Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service | |
| - Not resell or redistribute API access without authorization | |
| ## 4. API Usage | |
| ### 4.1 API Keys | |
| API keys are confidential credentials. You are responsible for safeguarding your API key and for all activity under it. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use. | |
| ### 4.2 Rate Limits | |
| The Service enforces rate limits per API key (default: 60 requests per 60-second window). Exceeding rate limits results in HTTP 429 responses. Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits. | |
| ### 4.3 File Limits | |
| Uploaded files must not exceed 20 MB. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, WebP, and PDF. | |
| ## 5. Service Availability | |
| ### 5.1 No Uptime Guarantee | |
| The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee any specific uptime, availability, or response time. The Service depends on third-party infrastructure (Hugging Face Inference API, Supabase) which may experience outages. | |
| ### 5.2 Model Availability | |
| AI models accessed through the Hugging Face Inference API may be temporarily unavailable due to loading times, rate limiting, or maintenance. The Service includes fallback model chains but cannot guarantee model availability. | |
| ## 6. Accuracy and Liability | |
| ### 6.1 No Guarantee of Accuracy | |
| Extraction results are generated by AI models and OCR and may contain errors. The Service provides confidence scores and validation checks, but these are advisory. You are responsible for verifying extracted data before relying on it for financial, legal, or business decisions. | |
| ### 6.2 Limitation of Liability | |
| TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCUMINT AI AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. | |
| Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. | |
| ## 7. Intellectual Property | |

| You retain all rights to documents you upload and data extracted from them. We claim no ownership over your content. | |
| ### 7.2 Service IP | |
| The Service, including its software, APIs, documentation, and visual design, is owned by DocuMint AI and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. | |
| ## 8. Data Handling | |
| Your use of the Service is also governed by our [Privacy Policy](PRIVACY_POLICY.md). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy. | |
| ## 9. Termination | |
| We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your stored data upon termination. | |
| ## 10. Modifications | |
