# patdev/linux-desktop bucket layout

This bucket is the single persistent store for the Linux Desktop.

`system/active.json` selects the runtime/artifact versions. Each artifact has its own
manifest and SHA-256. The Space image is only a bootstrap/system-package layer; mutable
runtime code and compiled AI runtimes are selected from this bucket.

Legacy directories (`/runtime`, `/runtime-cache`, `/local-agent`, `/.home`,
`/apps`, `/hf`) are retained while `patdev/linux-desktop` is validated. They are
not moved destructively while `patdev/linux-desktop-v2` is still serving as rollback.
