| # NEXT_STEP | |
| ## Current State | |
| `hai-github-gate` v0 is a deterministic, GitHub-native PR gate. | |
| It reads: | |
| - GitHub PR event data | |
| - PR body text | |
| - changed files via `git diff` | |
| - optional local fixture file lists | |
| It does not currently detect or distinguish Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenHands, Copilot, Pi, or other agents. | |
| This is acceptable for v0 because the gate protects merge rights regardless of which agent or human created the PR. | |
| ## Next Build Step | |
| Add a small harness metadata adapter. | |
| Required behavior: | |
| - Add an `Agent / Harness` section to the PR template. | |
| - Parse the section in `scripts/hai_gate.py`. | |
| - Print the detected source in the Owner Packet. | |
| - Add tests for `codex`, `claude-code`, `hermes`, `openhands`, `copilot`, `pi`, and `human`. | |
| Do not hardcode the gate to only Codex or Claude Code. Keep the core gate generic and make harness-specific rules optional metadata/config later. | |
